TALLAHASSEE – During a time when families are equipping their children with books, calculators, folders and pencils, the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation is reminding families to also cover their children with health and dental insurance. Florida Healthy Kids is one of the four Florida KidCare partners that provides quality, affordable, child-centered health and dental insurance to school-aged children.
“It is proven that children with health insurance are better prepared to reach their potential inside and outside of the classroom—and with schools also requiring student athletes to have coverage in order to participate, it is the perfect time to enroll,” said Rebecca Matthews, CEO of the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation. “Florida KidCare’s top-tier, comprehensive set of benefits ensures that children from birth through the end of age 18 can access the services they need at each primary developmental stage.”
Through Florida KidCare, most families pay nothing at all, and many pay as little as $15 or $20 a month. Benefits include routine doctor visits, physicals, prescriptions, dental and vision care, emergencies, surgeries, and more. Families who are not eligible for subsidized coverage through Florida KidCare can pursue full-pay options.
Florida KidCare’s enrollment is open year-round. Families can apply through one application - online at www.FloridaKidCare.org or by calling 1-888-540-5437—to be placed in the program applicable to their family.
